The Century Celebration songwriting contest has judges searching for the next great hockey hit song, with three finalists set to test their material for the winning spot.
Throwing a hockey hit is one thing. Writing a hit song is another.
Stan Davis thinks he’s penned the latest, greatest puck anthem. “It’s about celebrating,” he says. “Celebrating a hundred years of winning the cup and being Canadian. It’s about a local team that won and really proud being Canadian.”
Davis is one of 31 songwriters who have submitted original tunes for the Century Celebration songwriting contest.
It’s part of the Victoria Hockey Legacy Society’s Century Celebration, in honour of the 1925 Victoria Cougars Stanley Cup victory.
